phuket delight!

so quickly, hols over..
Didn't get to plan this trip out all that well so apart from snorkelling around with island visits to phi phi, maya beach and monkey beach the rest was all street shopping, eating, drinking and zzzzzzzz....
Guess there was ample time although I got a little frustrated on the last day after realising how much I'd missed on patong beach itself.
I stepped on the fine sand barely hours before my flight that every day.
Skies were clear blue and the beach.. a splitting image of the clarity below.. took a couple of steps and schools of fish were swimming all around me, i gazed out on the horizon .. and then to my surroundings unable to imagine the destruction of the big wave almost 2 years ago.
Mother nature's force seen on the news and human nature's effort to restore.. the world we live in..

Well, apart from the gazing and appreciation of what nature could offer, absorbing into the culture of the thai life was interesting.. could never really find a thai idling, all working hard at getting business in some form or other..
this island brings a different meaning to life.. work is what locals are best at and no matter their age, 7 or 70 , they sell their goods and negotiate with e tourists like pros. Place a 16 year old singaporean and chances are they'd be happier with an ipod or xbox..

As for my adventures in patong.. it was fun and cheap, scooting around with my 200baht /day bike, it was perfect for the shopping bags and thai foodstuff from carrefour @ jung ceylon. Along e way I was blessed with a few good souls who warned me against parking at e bike clamp zones and this bouncer even refused a tip after he helped me push my bike out onto e bz '200 pee road" yeah, thats actually e name of e road.. whatever it means..
e thais are a lovely bunch, warm friendly and helpful. never had a bad experience and a rather similiar experience to Samui

Now, 2 of the best beaches in Thailand I've conquered, wonder where's next..
